forthcoming papers

Two papers I have been working on for quite some time will appear in the beginning of next year in the International Journal of Cultural Property and the Journal of World Trade respectively. The first one is the result of one strand of my research devoted to the possibilities that digital media technologies offer for the protection and promotion of traditional cultural expressions. The second paper is a sort of a culmination of a series of papers and a four-year-research in the field of trade and culture, and the various ways the goal of cultural diversity can be protected at the international level. It is a critical account of the politics and the extremely strong path dependencies in the domains of trade and culture policies and law, and the very few attempts for a meaningful dialogue. I argue at the same time that digital media may offer a suitable way for reconciling the values of trade and culture, of economic and non-economic regulatory objectives.

not taking care

In the last months (year!) I have not been sufficiently taking care of my blog and it is in a poor state. Funnily enough this has happened not because I have nothing to blog about but rather because I have too much to do and little time to blog about it. That is not a very good excuse, I know...
As some sort of justification: I have been posting some pieces to the ijclp (International Journal of Communications Law and Policy) blog and research updates are available on my ssrn page.
